The first grade classes at Clara School recently learned about fire safety. To conclude the lesson, Chief Al Harrison and Assistant Chief Justin Lewis came to speak to the students. The chief emphasized the importance of checking your smoke detector to make sure it is working properly. He told them what to do in case of an emergency. He also showed the students all of the gear the firefighters have to wear. Mrs. Amanda got to put on the gear. At the end of the demonstration, each student received a helmet and a goody bag.
